A Lakeland man dropped his wallet in a parking lot and didn't realize it until someone else found it. Unfortunately, the person who found it made no effort to return in to the owner. The person who found it didn't turn it over to a store employee or deputy. His failure to do so is theft.
Theft is defined by state statute as depriving someone of their property. And that's what is happening here.
The wallet was dropped in the parking lot of the Circle K at 10704 Highway 98 North in Lakeland at about 10pm.
The tan wallet contained the owner's Driver's License, a credit card, and cash.
Security video at the store shows the man who picked up the wallet.
The suspect is a white male, about 5'9", and 170 pounds, with brown hair, and a thin beard and mustache.
