Theft in Publix parking lot: Lakeland-Highlands and 540A

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft of a Rolex watch, which occurred on April 15th, south of Lakeland.
The victim advertised his intent to sell the watch on Facebook Market Place. The suspect expressed an interest in buying the watch, and the two arranged to meet at the Publix Shopping Plaza at CR 540A and Lakeland-Highlands Road.
The suspect asked if he could try on the watch. Once he got it on, he ran away.
The suspect is described as being in his early to mid-20’s, about 6-feet tall, and 150-160lbs.
