The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft of a vehicle which occurred on Sunday, December 1, 2019 from the Regal Palms Resort on Sand Mine Road in Davenport.
The sister of the victim followed the stolen vehicle to the nearby Publix store and she confronted the suspect. The man fled on foot, leaving the vehicle behind.
The suspect was described as a black male, possibly a teenager, with short hair in a twist. He had been wearing a jacket with black, green, red, and yellow colors, which he left in the vehicle when he ran away.
A composite sketch of the suspect was made based on the description given by a witness.
