The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit and run that occurred around 9:30 p.m. on November 11, 2020 along Scenic Highway North and Hill Street in Lake Wales.
A pedestrian was struck by a car and thrown from a skateboard, sustaining multiple injuries from the crash. The driver, a white male, stopped, exited his vehicle to survey any damage to his car, and then left the scene without ever helping the person he struck.
The vehicle is an early 2000's model, white, Lincoln Town Car, similar to the one in the photo below. The right front passenger side of the car struck the pedestrian. It is unknown if there is damage to the vehicle.
