Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a retail theft.

On February 8, 2018, an unknown suspect was shopping at the Walmart located at 6745 Church Avenue North in Mulberry when he intentionally replaced a barcode from a game and replaced it with a lesser expensive item.

While the suspect was at a self-checkout line, the Walmart employee noticed he was scanning a “Magic the Gathering” card game and they were scanning as $4.18 apiece. The employee knew that specific game cost more than that.

The suspect rang up five boxes of games valued at $225, and only paid $20.90.

When the suspect was approached by a Walmart employee, he grabbed the games, and quickly left the store. Witnesses believe the suspect fled in a white Jeep Cherokee.
