The Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested a Lakeland man for a robbery that occurred early Sunday morning, July 6, 2025.  

At approximately 3:15 am, the 36-year old victim was riding his bicycle past the residence at 1035 David Avenue, when his bicycle bumped the suspect's trailer. 

40-year old John Brasseur, AKA Skateboard John, ran out of the residence and attacked the victim, striking him multiple times on the face and head.

Brasseur then got on the victim's bicycle and rode away. 

The victim had significant swelling on his head and eye, bruising, and a laceration near his eye. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. 

Deputies were able to locate Brasseur Sunday evening and arrested him.

He was taken to the Sheriff's Processing Center and booked-in on a charge of Robbery (F2).

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are likely.
