CRIME: BATTERY AND RETAIL THEFT

POLK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE CASE 26-29921

On July 19, 2026, the Polk County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into a retail theft and battery.

At around 2 pm that day, a man entered the store and attempted to purchase tobacco products, but when he couldn't produce identification, the store clerk refused to make the sale. 

This was the beginning of what turned in to a large disturbance in the store, as the man became irate, and the group of people with him, joined in on the bad behavior.

A female in the group spat in the face of one of the store employees. 

As the people in the group made their exit from the store, they stole numerous items.

Everyone in the group left in a white Chevy SUV.
