***UPDATE: OCTOBER 13TH***
The white Ford Ranger was recovered Monday evening. The man who was driving it, Brandon Spangler, was arrested at that time. He claims to not know anything about the attempted theft of the Chevy truck in this video. Detectives are still trying to identify the many seen on foot in the video.
ORIGINAL POST FOLLOWS:
On Tuesday, October 6th at about 12:30 in the afternoon, someone broke into a Chevy truck parked in the driveway of a Lakeland residence in the area of Banana Lake Road and Clubhouse Road.
Security video revealed at least two suspects pulling up to the residence in a white pickup truck (possibly a Ford Ranger). One man got out, while the driver of the truck stayed in and drove away.
The suspect who got out caused damages to the victim's doors, window, and ignition, in an attempt to steal it. The suspect did get away with two DeWalt power drills.
Unable to start the victim's truck, the suspect got out of it and realized his partner already drove away. The suspect then fled on foot.
The suspect on foot is believed to be a white male.
The suspect vehicle appeared to have had residue from a removed sign or maybe painted over on the passenger door . On the driver side, the front wheel is different than the other three wheels.
