The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Lake Wales Estates on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019, at around 6:00 p.m.
The crime occurred on a dirt trail between Cedar Hammock Street and Scott Avenue.
Four suspects exited a white Dodge pickup truck and confronted the victims, who were inside their vehicle. The suspects accused the victims of hitting their vehicle. One of the suspects brandished a firearm and pointed it at the driver, while demanding money. The truck fled the area to an unknown location.
The suspect vehicle was described as a 2010’s Dodge pickup truck with a lift kit, mud terrain tires, and amber or yellow lights on the roof. The truck also had a large horizontal side decal that ran from the rear to the front.
The front passenger was described as a tan, white male, approximately 30-40 years old, medium build, light beard.
The driver was described as a white male, in his 20’s, heavyset, and brown beard. He wore a holster on his right hip with a black semi-automatic handgun.
The rear passengers were described as white males, approximately 5’10” and 215 lbs.
